We
have a fully equipped DT room in the Prep School, allowing children
to experiment with materials and tools to design and create many
varied projects while learning how to use the tools safely
and effectively.
Children are encouraged to
be inventive and experiment with their ideas, using cams, pulleys,
electricity, hinge mechanisms and forces to create models of all kinds,
ranging from biscuit boxes (and the biscuits themselves), to houses
with electric lights and control sensors. Their imagination is given
full rein in their design work,
and they have the opportunity to use computer equipment to aid this.
