The School Day
The school day begins at 8.15 am when the duty staff are in the playgrounds. Children are expected to be in their classroom by 8.30 am for registration.
Timings at the end of the day are staggered to enable parents with children at different parts of the school to collect easily, and to alleviate traffic congestion.
At the end of the day members of staff will oversee the collection of all other pupils.
Parents are asked to assist by ensuring that pupils arrive at school in good time for registration and are collected promptly after school activities.
After school care is also available, if necessary, until 6 pm for children in Nursery upwards.
Nursery parents may line up with their child at 8.20 am in the playground, where their teacher will meet them and bring them into the classroom (parents are welcome to walk up too). All Nursery children attend the first session of the day which ends at 11.45 am, when children may be collected. Thereafter, children may stay for lunch until 12.30 pm and then be collected, or continue in the afternoon session until 3.15 pm. There will be a supervised Sibling Class available each day until 3.45 pm for children with older siblings at the school. After school care is also available, if necessary, until 6.00 pm.
Afternoon sessions are booked half termly in advance via Wisepay and we ask parents to adhere to booked sessions.
Pupils should arrive at 8.20 am. This coincides with the start of the day throughout the school and enables parents with children in more than one class to easily drop children off. A member of staff is in the playground from 8.15 am.
Collection times are staggered at the end of the school day to help keep traffic moving. Young children have a very full and active day at school and we would ask you to collect your child promptly. Some children find it particularly distressing to be the last one collected. There will be a supervised Sibling Class available each day until 3.45 pm for children with older siblings at the school. After School Care is available until 6.00 pm.
The Duty Teacher opens the school at 8.15 am. Children should not arrive before this time as the school cannot take responsibility for them. At the end of the day a member of staff will oversee the collection of pupils from the lower playground. There is a Late Room facility called Homework Club for children not attending a club, whose parents are unable to take them home at 3.45 pm. This is a supervised homework session and children should be collected at 4.45pm and not before. After school care is also available until 6.00 pm. Parents are asked to assist by ensuring that pupils arrive at school in good time for registration and are collected promptly after school activities.
